Sushi in Bergen, made from Norwegian seafood

Bergen's first Japanese restaurant. A sushi counter where Tokyo discipline meets the cold, clean produce of the Norwegian coast.

Why NAMA

A counter built on the raw ingredient

Nama means raw. Everything at NAMA starts with the fish: selected each morning, cut to order and dressed with restraint. Around the sushi counter sits a full Japanese fusion kitchen — robata grill, izakaya plates, tartars and soups — so a table can move from sashimi to fire without leaving the room.

We have served Bergen for more than twenty years from Lodin Lepps gate 2B, and the kitchen has stayed deliberately small so every plate leaves the pass finished by hand.

Nigiri

Hand-pressed over seasoned rice, one bite at a time. Salmon, scallop, bluefin and torched cuts finished with yuzu, soy reduction or a whisper of smoke.

Sashimi

The purest reading of the raw ingredient — sliced to the grain and served without distraction, exactly as nama intends.

Maki & rolls

From restrained hosomaki to our fuller signature rolls, built for sharing across the table with izakaya plates.

Omakase

Leave the choice to the chef: a sequence of the day's best cuts, paced from cold to warm to robata fire.
