Visiting Bergen

A Japanese restaurant just behind Bryggen

Bergen's first Japanese restaurant sits in the old town, steps from the wharf. Norwegian seafood, Japanese craftsmanship, and a dining room made for travellers who want more than a tourist menu.

Where we are

In the old town, off the tourist trail

Lodin Lepps gate 2B runs quietly behind the Bryggen wharf. You can walk here from the Fish Market, the Fløibanen funicular or the cruise berths in minutes, and step from the harbour into a calm room of oak, low light and an open sushi counter.

We have cooked for Bergen for more than twenty years. Most of our guests are locals — which is usually the best sign a visitor can look for.

FAQ

Visiting NAMA — good to know

How far is NAMA from Bryggen?
We are at Lodin Lepps gate 2B, just behind the Bryggen wharf — roughly a three to five minute walk from the historic quay and the Fish Market.
Is it walkable from the cruise terminal?
Yes. From the Skolten and Jekteviken cruise berths it is a 10–20 minute walk along the harbour, or a short taxi ride into the city centre.
Do you take walk-in guests?
Walk-ins are welcome when we have room, but the dining room fills quickly in the evening and in high season. Book online or call 55 32 20 10.
Do you have an English menu and English-speaking staff?
Yes. Our team speaks English, and menus with allergen information are available in English.
Can we eat early before a concert or a fjord tour?
We serve continuously from 11:00, so you can eat lunch or an early dinner between sightseeing. Served daily 11:00 – 16:00.
